Let's start with the bad news, this library's only handicap: it is a bit difficult to find. And once you have found it, please do not draw the wrong conclusions when you see its unimpressive entrance, wedged into a building front. Just go through it and you will find yourself in a spacious, bright ambience with ample space to move around between the shelves or make yourself at home at one of our tables, which are close to the windows and offer a great view of our green terrace.

Of course free moving space is not the only good thing about the spacious premises of this library – it also helps us neatly arrange our multifaceted holding of books and AV-media. We still have videos and audio cassettes for children on our shelves, but not only for sentimental reasons. We do not want to put you under any pressure should you have managed to defy the digital revolution so far. For all others, that does not mean that our DVD or CD shelves are not full as well. Quite on the contrary.

A substantial part of our premises has been arranged with the aim of making our young and very young visitors feel at home without our grown-up visitors feeling disturbed. And as it is in particular the children and adolescents who add a lot of colour to the linguistic landscape of our district, we contribute our share by offering foreign-language children’s books (in particular in Turkish, Bosnian-Serbian-Croatian, and English).

And finally, let us point out another little luxury regarding our interior decoration: We have more houseplants than you would wish to water when you’re around …. No, don't worry. We are not going to hand you the watering can, not even if you become a regular.

Core areas:

  • Foreign-language books / Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian
  • Foreign-language books / Turkish
  • Intercultural focus
