We are proud to offer you an extensive and state-of-the-art range of media products, not only where content is concerned. For instance, in addition to a wide selection of German-language media, we also have a well-assorted range of Turkish and Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian literature as well as classic and modern English fiction.
Just because something isn’t all the rage at the moment doesn't mean that it deserves to be thrown out: In addition to a DVD collection above ground (and above average), we can also afford the luxury of a subterranean video collection, thanks to our excellent storage facilities. After all, we know that a classic film on videotape is better than no film at all. And some classics are so much in demand that we have decided to keep more than one copy – for instance, some of the standard works of required reading lists.
In life, it is often the small things that make the big things so attractive. For this reason, we have not only opened up our terrace with its beautiful view over a huge plantain tree to visitors, but also furnished it with irresistibly comfortable garden seats. Unfortunately, barbecues are not permitted (although we stock more than enough cookbooks to make them a success).
The events we organise in our library are an important part of what we stand for: they range from book readings to writing competitions and music events. In addition to the many regular children’s events that take place in the library, we also organise a library riddle session once a month for our young readers where they can win books or CDs.
It goes without saying that we also aim to provide you with an excellent service that includes advice and book recommendations as well as helping you research and find certain titles.
Of course, the small things in life can also drive us up the wall – let us thus apologise here and now for the fact that our library isn't entirely easy to find. However, a personal telephone navigation service is available for you if the need arises. And as soon as you hit a cluster of beautiful Paulownia trees, you know that you've arrived.
