Let's start by giving you some information to make sure you are not deterred from coming to our library:
- Although our library looks closed if the screaming orange-blue sun-blinds are down this is not the case. We are not trying to keep you away, all we want to do is protect us from the seasonal climate warming.
- If you come to our library and hear "children's noise" you might have chosen the wrong entrance (our children’s library has a separate entrance). So you are not completely wrong, you just took a wrong turn – or you look younger than you are.
- If you came here with the intention of complaining about the closure of the library at Hutweidengasse you will find a sympathetic ear – and then we will convince you that everything you thought you might have lost there can be found at our library as well.
Apart from sufficient parking spaces you will find virtually everything a well assorted and connected library should offer: a widely spread range of media, competent personal service, Internet (well, of course), a copying machine (sure), educational media of media wien (I see!) and … well, almost everything you can think of.
We are very pleased that older and younger library users alike appreciate us and make use of our varied offers. However, we are surprised that there are not many students among our visitors although there should be quite a few of them in this area and usually the availability of parking spaces is not on top of their list of priorities. Yes, we are an insider tip, but we don't want to be known to a few insiders only. Not only do we offer media on all kinds of subjects but usually these items are also available because we are not stormed by the masses, as is the case with libraries in more central districts, and we are still not known too well among students.
Core areas:
- Foreign-language books / English
- Audio books for adults
